2002 PEARL PRESIDENT’S CUP

6/23/2002- Pearl City's Norman-Ganin Asao (pictured above center) made a crucial up & down on the final hole to save par and seal the deal. Asao's second shot went over the 18th green and people who know its almost death from back there to chip it close. He calmly chip it to about three feet and drained the par putt. Asao shot a final round 1-over par 73 (73-66-73---212 4-under par) to win by one shot over runner-up Brandan Kop (above right) who made a valiant charge in the final round going low to close with a 6-under par 66 (74-73-66---213)! Kop improved by 5 spots starting the final round tied for 7th and finishing one off the pace. Rounding out the top three Clayton Gomi (above left) who fired a final round 2-under par 70. Gomi put two back to back sub-par rounds together, 2-under par in round two and in today's final round.
