Brandan Kop carded a
final round 1 eagle, 4 birdies, 12 pars and 1 bogey for a
5-under par 67 and a tournament total of 208, 8-under par to
capture his third Mamala Bay Hickam AFB Amateur Invitational
win. I spoke to Brandan after the round and he said overall
his game was solid, hitting fairways off the tee, hitting
good wedge shots and especially making the 4-6 foot putts
for birdie or to save par and keep the momentum going. Kop
also said that he was playing defensive on the back-nine
today as 36-hole leader Jonathan Mathias struggled on
his first couple of holes on the back-nine and thru 12 holes
Brandan said he had a 5-shot advantage so he didn't want to
do anything foolish to let Mathias or for that matter
defending champion Mark Chun who was making a charge back in
the game. Runner up was defending champion Mark Chun
who closed with a 3-under par 69 and a tournament total of
213, 3-under par and rounding out the top three Jonathan
Mathias who fired a final round 2-over par 74 and a
