ROBERT TRENT JONES II RETURNS TO KIAHUNA
KOLOA,
KAUAI, December 6, 2003- Robert Trent Jones II (pictured above center,
green cap), the preeminent golf course designer worldwide, paid a visit to the
Kiahuna Golf Club Wednesday. Jones, who designed the Poipu course in 1983, came
by to meet the new owners of Kiahuna and to observe the course renovation that
started in July.
“I am glad
Kiahuna Golf Club is being refreshed after a long period of neglect. The course
I designed will be restored and updated with integrity,” Jones said. “As I live
here part time on Kauai, I’ll be by to help. Good Luck to all concerned and
thanks.”
The Robert
Trent Jones II firm has designed many of the world’s most intriguing and
beautiful golf courses including Poipu Bay, the Prince and Makai courses and
Kiahuna Golf Club, all on Kauai.
The Kiahuna Golf Club
was purchased by a group of Kiahuna Golf Village homeowners in April of this
year and is under extensive renovation. The goal of the group is to return the
property to the high standard it deserves.
